Adrenaline is a hormone secreted by adrenal glands which causes the body to show response to sudden stress or exhilarating situations. It is also known as epinephrine. When someone becomes scared or angry adrenaline is released in the blood. The function of adrenaline is to bring changes in the body  to take any action.

The function of adrenaline is to increase the strength and also the heartbeat rate in a person. It also causes rapid conversion of glycogen into glucose that provide energy to the muscles.

Adrenaline is drawn from adrenal glands of animals or may be made from chemicals for treating various ailments. Function of adrenaline that is produced for commercial use is to treat serious allergic reactions, to control the heartbeat of patients who got cardiac arrest. The dosage of adrenaline shot should be explained by the doctor in advance and it should also be known where to give the injection as any mistake can cause serious consequences in the affected person.

Another function of adrenaline is to help in case of asthma by making the muscles of bronchi relax. It should be known in very stressful situations, when adrenaline is released then it should be worked off through some form of physical exercises. Due to lack of any physical exercise there may be jitters or sleeplessness in the person.

Adrenaline structure

The adrenaline structure includes the epinephrine hormone, that is composed of neurotransmitters that bring about important changes in the human body in order to deal with stress conditions. The adrenaline structure contains chemicals ,that lead to increased heart rate and constriction of blood vessels that lead to dilation of air passages.

Thus, it is due to the unique adrenaline structure that it is referred to as the fight or flight hormone, as it is released in response to stress. The adrenaline structure also plays an important role in the chemical coordination and interaction of various elements in the human body.

The adrenaline hormone contains various messengers that are produced by the adrenal glands, and help in dealing with stress. The adrenaline hormone is produced by the sympathetic nervous system. It contains amphetamine that is a powerful stimulant that increases blood pressure and there is increased oxygen intake.

The chemical synthesis of epinephrine includes the reaction of catechol and chloroacetyl chloride that is followed by reaction with methylamine that gives the ketene product.

This product of the chemical reaction is then reduced, in order to produce the required hydroxyl compound. The racemic mixture thus produced can be separated by applying tartaric acid.

The product thus produced by chemical synthesis is used for various therapeutic purposes and borate salt is widely used in the field of ophthalmology.

Adrenaline rushes

In situations which require high intensity sports or when there is a danger to one’s life, the body has a mechanism due to which it reacts automatically in doing what is known as adrenaline rushes. This response of the body through hormones can be an enjoyable experience for some but very crucial for others.

Adrenaline rushes may also be called as flight or fight response and happen due to release of hormone from adrenal gland. In people who are healthy, the release of hormones involve presence of eighty percent adrenaline and the rest of norepinephrine.

Adrenaline rushes may be because of the body’s automatic reaction to any situation or activity which may be discomforting, full of stress, physically demanding and may also be exciting.

Apart from bringing out a response from body for dealing with stress or excitement, adrenaline rushes may also bring along feelings of tension and panic. Therefore it is necessary to let the body work off the hormones released at the time of adrenaline rush. So when there is a scenario that doesn’t result in physical activity, the hormones released may cause jitters or anxiety or loss of sleep so to combat stress from release of hormones, one should engage in some physical activity like jogging or walking.

Adrenaline pumping

Today, there are many adrenaline junkies who like to get their adrenaline pumping by indulging in various physical activities. They do this in order to experience the unique feeling, that gets their adrenaline pumping. There are various sports activities that can get your adrenaline pumping, and you can harness this hormone  in order to get an experience that lasts for lifetime.

People who are bored of their daily chores and activities, take time out for such sports activities as it rejuvenates and bring thrill and adventure to their lives. One has to be in good health and fitness, in order to indulge in extreme sports activities.

When adrenaline is pumping in the body, there is breakdown of fat deposits in the liver, that make extra energy available for the body. Some of the sports activities that get the adrenaline pumping include sky diving and roller coaster rides. Although these activities are not harmful, one experiences fear and thrill and this gets the adrenaline shooting up in the blood stream.

Function of Adrenaline is hence important to the body!
